Are you feeling it?
It’s a busy couple of weeks for energy shifts with Mercury in retrograde last Thursday, Sept. 17, 2015, the Autumn Equinox today and the Harvest Moon being a Supermoon Eclipse this Sunday, Sept. 27, 2015.
Mercury is in retrograde from Sept. 17th to Oct. 9th which is known as the “storm” period. The time before and after this “storm” period is called the “shadow” period and it does not end until Oct. 24th. Mercury is the planet of communication so during this time of retrograde such things like speaking, negotiating, buying and selling, listening, formal contracts, documents, travel, the mail and shipping can be affected. It is said that delays, mechanical break downs and electronic malfunctions can occur. Although a lot of what is said seems to be negative, this is a good time for reflection and re-organizing.
It is important to learn about your astrological charts to better understand yourself. Everyone talks about the affects of Mercury in retrograde but I wasn’t experiencing the things they said were happening to them. It wasn’t until I had an astrological reading that I found out the reason. You see, if you have Mercury retrograde in your natal chart (as I do), the affects are not felt as strongly and in fact, your thinking processes are usually more keen and your sense of humor a little wacky during this time.
The Autumn Equinox is today propelling us into a new season. We are connected to nature as with all things so as day and night become balanced it is a time for us to become as well. It is a time for self reflection, thankfulness for what was harvested (achieved), contemplation of what is next to be achieved and the removal of those things that no longer serve you in your life.
The Harvest Moon, called that for its connection to the Autumn Equinox, is only days away. This year it is a supermoon which means that it will be at a the point that is closest to earth making it look huge. What is different about this Harvest Moon is that is will also be occurring with an eclipse. This will give the moon the appearance of being red in the sky, also known as a Blood Moon. This is the fourth in 2014/15 and the last one with the prediction of it not occurring again until the year 2033. As with Mercury in retrograde and the Autumn Equinox, the Harvest Moon is a time for reflection, thankfulness, re-organization and the removal of things to make way for the new coming into your life.
Each event alone creates an energy shift but having all three within this time span, amplifies the energy thus the affects.
Hold onto your seat and enjoy the energy rollercoaster ride!
